OurNorth/OurFuture

April 17-19 2009, 14 youth from Tuktoyaktuk, Paulatuk, Inuvik and Aklavik got together at the Mangilaluk School in Tuktoyaktuk to talk about change, security and sustainability and capture their perspectives of what they think life is like in the North today using video, photography and writing/blogging. These creative peices will be uploaded to this blog as well as the International Polar Year Time Capsule Project which will be opened during the next International Polar Year in about 25 years.

1) What was your most memorable moment of yesterday?
The drum dancing. Seeing a new culture and tradition.

2) What is your hope for the future of the NWT?
No pipeline.

3) What are your hopes for the weekend?
To have fun and make the weekend go by so I can see my boyfriend.
